While Khalid's marriage to his cousin Suha in 1973 was a joyous occasion, the death of his father in 1974 brought on greater responsibilities. His brother, Abdul Majeed, was elected Chairman of the Board and General Manager of the Arab Bank, and Khalid was elected Deputy Chairman and Deputy General Manager.

Following in the footsteps of their father, Khalid and Abdul Majeed dedicated their lives to bring the Arab Bank to the heights it has reached today.

In February 1979, Omar, Khalid's son, was born, and in January 1982, his daughter Aysha. Omar obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University in the U.S. in May 2001.He was elected a member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bank after the passing of his father. He resigned from the Board in March 2004. Aysha graduated from Brown University in 2004.

A loving father and a devoted husband, Khalid gave his time, care, and affection to his family in the most exceptional way.
